THOSE ARE SO PRETTY! If only I had a use for sweaters, here in the land of once-every-four-year snow.

You have a "need" for sweaters. It may be an infrequent need, but it's still a need. Not only does it occasionally snow there, but you also need sweaters when you go back to WI.
See I great at justifying any piece of clothing.
